ZOYA – Jacy & DEBORAH LIPPMANN Happy Birthday
Hey girlies J
Sooooo it was my birthday this week and I decided that was enough of a half-excuse to buy DL’s lustful Happy Birthday. And then someone also bought me it as a present – yay – so I can now make official Candy Shop and Forget You dupes J
I thought long and hard about what to wear her over, and after seeing a lot of pink in the blogosphere this last week, decided to go for the only Zoya Pulse Goddess I didn’t swatch last week – Jacy.
You can just about see the glass flecks if you can see past the "colouring outside the lines" lol - I hadn't cleaned up yet!
Jacy is a powerhouse. She is ridicloulously complex and deep, and the photos really are lame in comparison to how she looks in person. A deep raspberry magenta with flashes of blue and fuchsia shimmer, Jacy *also* rocks the glass flecks. Teeny tiny ones. Teeny tiny bright pink ones. Sooooo pretty. So flipping hard to photograph. The only photo that comes close is one under bright light – the flecks were almost impossible to see in natural light, but I felt so smug knowing they were there J
I then layered the Happy Birthday on and – holy moly! I was not prepared for quite how much glitterness was going to come out of that bottle! We’re all so used to stroking a glitter on and having it sparse itself out across the nail, but this baby, I don’t know if it was breeding in the brush but it just kept on coming lol. (Which is good. We moan about the price of DL but I reckon this baby would last double due to the sheer abundance of glitter in there, making her a more reasonable price per use.)
A bit too much in my opinion. I felt they were over blingy, and I will definitely use less next time.
And then I did something ….. amazing! I crackled them. Oh my sweet polishy goodness. Suddenly, Happy Birthday looks like a firework, her colourful brightness peaking through the night sky. Amazing! So so happy with this look.
Look, I still can’t stop looking at it.
And more. And more lol.
I get sooooooo excited, far more than other bloggers! Good or bad, I'm not sure ha ha.
Have fun J
Top Tip – if you’re ever unsure what a nail colour looks like, go to Google images, which will give you plenty of contrasts and compares.
